Sept 20; GFP Duck Hunting Regulations Public Meeting- The SD GFP will be holding a duck hunting regulations public input meeting at the Terry O’Keefe Hunter Education Center on Wed., Sept 20 at 7pm.  The meeting is to gather information and public opinion on season settings, bag limits, hunting zones and more.  TheEducation Center is next to the Arnie Goldade shooting range; 5.5 miles S. of Sodak's on Highway 281.  If you can't attend the meeting, click here for more information and to take the survey.  





Sept 21; Fall steak fry- The club will once again be hosting a steak dinner this fall for all members so block out Thurs., Sept 21 on your calendars.  As an added bonus, it is being held at Jeff Stohr’s house!  Jeff has an extensive collection of animal mounts from around the world, including many full body mounts.  If you’ve attended some of the slide/video presentations Jeff has given for the club, you know what I’m talking about!  The cost is $10/steak or chicken if you prefer.  YOU MUST RSVP to Bob Bucholz at rdbuch2@nrctv.comby Sun., Sept. 17 to attend this event.  The meal will start at 6pm followed by tours of his collection.  The address is 39074 Edgewood Lane in the Prairiewood subdivision, N. of Moccasin Creek Country Club.

Sept 22-23; GFP waterfowl camp & hunt- The SD GFP and Delta Waterfowl are hosting a Brown County Youth Waterfowl Camp and Hunt on Sept. 22-23. Thewaterfowl camp will be on Friday, Sept. 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the GFP District office in Aberdeen. Activities will include shooting skills, calling, waterfowl identification and dog training. Participants will also get information on where they will be hunting the following day.  The youth hunt will take place on Saturday, Sept 23.  Hunters will be back at the GFP office around 10:30 a.m. for breakfast, pictures, duck cleaning and recipe demonstrations.  This event is open to 10-15 year old, beginning waterfowl hunters. A parent or legal guardian must sign a waiver before a youth can participate in these events. Parents are welcome and encouraged to engage in the activities. This event is limited to 20 participants. Contact Carey Egeland at (507) 841-0413to register. Registration closes on Sept. 15.
